Ceramiche Virginia Srl, for more than 50 years a leading company in the production of “Made in Italy” artistic ceramics and owner of the brand Virginia Casa, in collaboration with Viticoltori Montespertoli and Comune di Montespertoli, presents the first edition of the contest “Il Vino nel Coccio”.
The contest is aimed at identifying a shape and decoration for putting into production a bottle to be made of decorated ceramic and intended to contain selected wine.
The initiative aims to promote the Tuscan territory, its traditions, art and native productions, in this case wine and ceramics produced in the Montespertoli area.

Two categories of competition

  1. Design

    Reserved for designers, graphic designers, professionals active in the fields of graphics, architecture and design and students of Institutes and Faculties of Architecture, Graphics and Design

  2. Decoration

    Open to anyone 18 years of age or older on the date of submission of entries

How to share your project

For both categories in the competition, submission of 3 horizontal format boards at resolution optimized for monitor viewing is required. The total weight of the submitted files shall not exceed 5MB in weight, under penalty of exclusion.
→ 1 board to represent the design idea/concept.
→ 1 board with the decorative proposal made on silhouette provided (for decoration category) / 1 board with dimensioned technical drawings (for design category)
→ 1 descriptive board consisting of an explanatory text of the project and images or any other graphic design that illustrates adherence to the competition theme and its purpose, product features and functionality of the proposal

5. Copy of a valid ID

1° Classified from Technical Jury – Category DESIGN
– A 1000€ voucher to be spent on www.virginiacasa.store
– 12 Premium Wine bottles offered by the Consortium of Winegrowers Montespertoli
– One night stay c/o one selected Agriturismo from the Consortium of Winegrowers Montespertoli
– Personalized Participation Diploma

1° Classified from Technical Jury – Category DECORATION
– A 500€ voucher to be spent on www.virginiacasa.store
– 6 Premium Wine bottles offered by the Consortium of Winegrowers Montespertoli
– One night stay c/o one selected Agriturismo from the Consortium of Winegrowers Montespertoli
– Possibility of decorating the winning décor directly in a ceramic factory
– Personalized Participation Diploma

2 Prizes awarded by online Community

Judges will select 6 additional worth-being-mentioned projects to be published on @VirginiaCasaStore and will be judged by Virginia’s Fans and Followers

TIMING and Deadline

→ June 30th, 2023 Competition Opening
→ September 30th, 2023 last call for Project’s submission
→ October 15th, 2023 selection of 6 finalist – results will be published on @viginiacasa.store
→ October 30th, 2023 end of Jury winner evaluation. Final ranking will be communicated to selected Participants directly, within the following 10 days
→ Prizes Award: end of November, 2023

Project’s evaluation

The Judging Commission, composed of Entrepreneurs, Designers, Company Representatives, Art Teachers, University Students, Representatives of Public Institutions, will select the most interesting works according to:
→ Uniqueness of the project
→ Feasibility of the proposal
→ Aesthetic value and compositional balance of the project
